Institute of Fashion Technology Kerala presents sculpted evening wear at Bangalore Fashion Week
The student showcase at the opening of Day Three of BFW 27th Edition moved through satin, sheer layers and ruffled surfaces in a palette of brown, ivory and soft blue. The silhouettes balanced corsetry, fluid skirts and architectural drape.
Bengaluru, 17 October 2026 — The Institute of Fashion Technology Kerala brought a refined student showcase to the opening of Day Three at the 27th edition of Bangalore Fashion Week, presenting eveningwear shaped through satin sheen, controlled structure and layered texture. The collection worked across a restrained palette of brown, ivory and pale blue, allowing form and finish to take precedence.
Several looks were built around fitted bodices and elongated skirts, with a clear emphasis on contour. A brown ensemble paired a cropped top with a long skirt that widened toward the hem, while a matching draped layer fell softly from the shoulders. The effect was sleek and composed, with the fabric catching light in smooth planes.
An ivory gown introduced a lighter register, its strapless bodice framed by curved bands that traced the torso before releasing into a full skirt. The surface remained polished and fluid, with the structure held close to the body and the volume opening gradually below. The look carried a quiet precision, shaped by line rather than embellishment.
Elsewhere, the collection turned to ruffle work and asymmetric detailing. A chocolate-toned gown used cascading ruffles along the side seams to create movement against the otherwise columnar silhouette. Another design placed layered ruffles across the bodice and one shoulder, bringing a more tactile rhythm to the satin base. The contrast between smooth fabric and folded edges gave the pieces a sculptural quality.
Across the selection, the styling remained restrained, allowing the garments to speak through cut, surface and proportion. The showcase reflected a student-led approach that favoured disciplined construction and visible technique, with each look anchored in eveningwear codes but handled with a contemporary sense of texture and shape.
