Alpa And Reena
Alpa & Reena - The bespoke label incepted and conceptualized by the sister team. A brand that showcases couture & prêt women's wear ensembles.
A boasts of a repertoire that incorporates fine skills of the finest textiles, detailed embroidery and fine tailoring.
The brands foray into the South African market was initiated through SAIFTA – South African Film and Television Awards in March 2013 & September 2013, stemming from an existing client base within the Indian Diaspora of South Africa.
The said brand further compounded their creative merit further by designing for several Bollywood personalities. The label had a sizeable contribution in creating some noteworthy Red Carpet looks for the Bollywood community.
Their entire spectrum of fusion wear was sported by several film and television personalities at SAIFTA in the same year, by the likes of Waheeda Rehman, Farah Khan, Raveena Tandon, Isha Talwar, Amy Jackson, Geeta Kapoor & Rakshanda Khan.
Fusion ensembles are never complete without the accessories that adorn them. With that in mind, and a for a cause close to the designers hearts, Alpa & Reena decided to join hands with the Hill Crest Foundations, one of South Africa's leading AIDS Institutions to create exquisite beaded accessories which complement the garment. Additionally, they have also crafted some beautiful AIDS ribbons for the SAIFTA awards. This formed a remarkable synergistic association with a two fold purpose. One, that it was an excellent way to encourage local craftsmen to produce and advertise their work through established mediums and secondly, all the proceeds from the sale of beads were given to the foundation to further the good work that they do.
Apart from that, the brand was also a part of The Mauritius Fashion Week in 2011, as well as some beautifully conceptualized trunk shows in India and overseas. The obsession with the bespoke experience and a continuously updated collection, has led them to a dedicated fan base in India and abroad. Their designs are slowly working their way to garner the admiration of some of the high and mighty of the industry as well as various design outlets. Keeping the designs chic and timeless and in the same context, the style of the sisters can be best described as Modern Classism. Whether it's a personal rendezvous or a professional tete a tete, your search for the perfect outfit would certainly be met at 'AlpaReena'.

After completing his diploma in fashion designing in 2003, his skills in designing got a new direction. His passion to collect khadi of various states and design in them, gave rise to the label name 'GANDHIAN FAB' before three years.
Amyn's Couture is an attempt to innovate, recreate and embrace modernity, keeping in mind India's rich cultural heritage. An amalgamation of Amin's signature style with the exotic original fabric of India- Khadi; has succeeded in revealing the aura of modern, emancipated, yet traditional Indian woman. His aim is to portray through the display of his various novel cuts; the versatility of khadi and he believes that when anyone puts on natural fabric; they emit an aura of confidence, self- reliance and dignity. He is working to give new and modern cuts and styles on this fabric to make it more acceptable among Gen Next. He is even working to promote the weavers and bunkars and is even trying to keep alive many of their fast fading heritage skills.
His forte is simple, ethnic wearable Kurtis in khadi; but he has equally found response for his western, semi-western as well as prêt collection. His aim is to attract the attention of many iconic and professional women as well as the new generation towards adopting this green fabric – a unique way by which he pays homage to our Nation-India!!! It gives him immense pleasure and sense of achievement when someone who has never worn khadi; gets attracted to wear one when he designs something unique for her. Ashima Leena
The journey began over two decades ago, and, the journey continues. A brand that was born out of the strength and tenacity of two women, related through a familial relationship and through the bond of work.
Currently employing over a hundred and fifty karigars, the AL production is based in the outskirts of the capital city.
Ashima Singh heads the artistic direction, while Leena Singh handles business operations. On the front end, AL retails from its sole flagship store at DLF Emporio, the premium shopping destination in New Delhi.
The AL doorway leads to a vast body of work that is patronized by a niche country-wide clientele and international loyalists. Traditional wear is juxtaposed with influences from across the world that characterize our twin strengths – embellishment and silhouette, our defining identity.
Each piece is carefully crafted by skilled hands and personally overseen by the designers before it leaves the atelier. Raw material for hand-embroidery is sourced from across the world and fabrics are often developed from the yarn stage. Colors dipped in a varied palettes discover new combinations, season after season. Shapes lend diversity in an exuberant display of cultural and contemporary styles. Inspiration is sometimes revisited from a single archive and represented through a series of often overlapping but radically different looks that captures the re-imagining of the label itself, as much as its wearer.
Famed for one-of-a-kind ensembles, AL has never resorted to a revised-pricing format, even at the end of a season. This is as much a business decision as it is a function of the passivity of a premium luxury product that is self-limiting and decidedly so. Our bridal collection as well as the textile derived 'benares' are specially created for a be-spoke experience.
Back at the karkhana, bridal-wear commissions are constantly in the making – priced at six lacs and above, there is a seeming languid surety about the hands at work … a quiet confidence that stems from the certainty of design and quality excellence, which is at the helm of AL. Sharing a larger worldview than their own, Ashima and Leena are committed to the welfare of women. They will, in the near future, introduce a pan-India philanthropic initiative to facilitate female fertility solutions. Engaging in the world around them, beyond fashion, as they often have done, is a primary consort to the ethos of AL.

Sonia And Ria
Put simply Majori is all about putting the fun back into fashion and making it accessible. Majori's creative vision is the brain child of sisters Ria and Sonia, who felt that the regular fashion offering to women in Bangalore fell into 2 categories – cost-effective but mundane and uninspired, or high end but enormously expensive.

Majori's range consists of day dresses, blouses, skirts, trousers and jackets – in other words, the stuff you would normally wear. Our signature style focus is colour and colour mixes, through bold vivid prints and bright solids.
Each season's collection places a strong emphasis on quality, craftsmanship and attention to detail. Production runs are relatively low volume thereby ensuring that the outfit will be distinctive.
Ria Joy-Mathews has over fifteen years' experience in the womenswear industry – both bespoke and retail.
